WIAWIS Matchplay

PLEASE, READ ALL INFORMATION CAREFULLY

In this match-style tournament, archers are divided into groups of up to 6. Each archer shoots one match against every other archer in their group (a round-robin format). The winner of each category wins a prize!

Barebow

• 1 group. There are no elimination matches afterwards: the group winner is the tournament winner.

Compound

• 2 groups. The winner of each group advances to the final.

Recurve

• 4 groups. The winner of each group advances to the semifinals. There will be no bronze medal match.

Men, women and all age groups compete together in the same category.

Group stage rules

• All matches have 5 sets/ends.

• A win earns 2 points. In case of a tie, each archer gets 1 point (there is no shoot-off).

• Archers are ranked by points. If archers are tied for the place that advances to the elimination phase, there will be a single-arrow shoot-off. Ties for other positions are decided by arrow average. If the tie still persists, percentage of wins is used as the next criterion.

Elimination phase

• Matches follow standard competition match rules.

The tournament will be run by unofficial judges. The event is open to all archers, whether or not they are registered for the Swiss Open.
